WSOP Champs Ted Forrest, Mike Matusow argue over $1.7m Bet Payment

There's some major drama in the poker world right now, with Ted Forrest arguing with Mike Matusow over a big prop bet debt. According to Forrest's twitter account, Matusow owes him $1.7 million from a weight loss bet that they made in 2010.

The main stipulations of the bet were that Forrest needed to drop from 188 to 138, without the use of weight loss drugs. He managed to accomplish the feat in two months, which put him in line for $2 million. Justin "BoostedJ" Smith covered $200k of the amount while Matusow was supposed to pay the other $1.8 million.

Greg Merson becomes First Player signed by WSOP.com

After unveiling online poker sites in both New Jersey and Nevada, the WSOP took a position of not using sponsored pros to market their operation. Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the WSOP, said as much last year with this statement:

On the land based side of the WSOP, we’ve always shied away from signing personal endorsements with individual players. As an organizer who has a key role in....the outcome of the game we see ourselves in the league function, aimed to be impartial and to have maximum trust and integrity.
