WSOP Champ Jan-Peter Jachtmann has Gold Bracelet stolen in Robbery

Two and a half years ago, Jan-Peter Jachtmann was on top of the world after winning the 2012 WSOP $10k Pot-Limit Omaha Championship along with $661,000. Now, he's feeling quite low after losing his gold bracelet and a "five-figure" sum in cash to a home robbery in Reinbek, Germany.

Police spokeswoman Sonja Kurts believes that the crime was carried out by "professional burglars," and that it occurred sometime between 7:40 pm (Dec 24) and 4:00 am (Dec 25). Authorities have determined that the burglars slipped in through a window in Jachtmann's house, taking dollars, Swiss francs, a laptop and a WSOP gold bracelet once inside. They were then able to walk right out the front door of the empty house.

For the first few days after the robbery, Jachtmann was feeling pretty depressed. However, he eventually got on Facebook and managed to offer €20,000 to anybody with information leading to the criminals. Here's one excerpt from the Facebook post (translated from German):

According to police, a professional, apparently targeted burglary ... Looking for cash was devastated by the thieves my whole house! Unfortunately, they were successful, including a larger five-figure sum in dollars and Swiss francs was stolen and what I particularly hurts my WSOP gold bracelet by winning the PL Omaha Championship 2012!

For me this was the worst Christmas of my life ... I was pretty down 2-3 days, shocked and speechless ... But now I'm feeling better and I will now try to find all these criminal bastards, and / or at least my bracelet recover! First, I put a reward of 20,000 euros, for instructions (and is completely confidential!) Leading to the perpetrators! Confidential notes only to the whereabouts of the bracelets (without the offender to know) be generously rewarded! Anyone who knows anything or has heard of ...?!

The robbery of Jachtmann hearkens back to other poker-related burglaries of the past. Hoyt Corkins, Jonathan Duhamel and Theo Jorgensen are all prominent players who've had their homes burglarized. In the case of Duhamel and Jorgensen, they were also harmed in the process, with Duhamel being tied and beaten and Jorgensen being shot three times. Thankfully, both players lived through their terrible ordeals and are still playing poker today.
